I have been using Tiger Brokers since 2020 with no major issues.

Ease of Account Creation

Registering a login account and opening a trading account are two separate processes.

Registering a login account: use a telephone number or email
Opening a trading account: enter personal particulars and trading experience manually or via Singpass MyInfo

The process took around 15 minutes and approval was fast.

Is my money safe with Tiger Brokers?

Tiger Brokers is licensed by MAS and complies with the Securities and Futures Act.

Clients’ funds and investments are kept in segregated accounts.

Investments Custody:

U.S. market: cleared via IBKR and ultimately held by DTC
Hong Kong market: ultimately held via CCASS
Singapore market: shares are ultimately held by CDP
Mutual Funds / Unit Trusts: custodised by AllFund, Singapore Branch

SGX Custody Fee (Singapore Market)

A CDP sub-account is created when clients first trade Singapore-listed securities.

Tiger’s published fee schedule lists a quarterly custody fee of SGD 2 (plus GST) for accounts with a CDP sub-account and no SGX transaction during the quarter.

However, Tiger’s current commission page states that the SGX custody fee is waived for all accounts until further notice.

Trading fees comprise more than just commission. Platform fees, settlement fees, exchange fees and taxes may apply depending on the market.

US settlement fees are charged on a per-share basis and are subject to a cap. The cap has changed over time, so always review the latest fee schedule and in-app trade breakdown before confirming trades—especially when trading penny stocks.

Funding of Account

Funds are held in a client segregated bank account as required under Singapore regulations.

Tiger Brokers accepts deposits via FAST transfer or telegraphic transfer from a bank account in the trading account holder’s name.

DBS/POSB – DDA Deposit

Link a DBS/POSB account to debit funds directly for faster SGD funding.

Bank Transfer

Transfer funds to Tiger Brokers’ designated DBS account and indicate your account details in the Payment Reference field.

Ensure you transfer to the correct currency account. Incorrect transfers may result in delays.

Trading on Tiger Brokers

Have a CPFIA and/or SRS account with DBS, OCBC or UOB
Switch to Cash Boost Account in the Tiger Trade app

Select CPF or SRS and follow linking instructions

Only eligible SGX-listed SGD counters are supported for CPF/SRS trades. CPF/SRS trades must be fully funded.
