What Is Zoho?

Zoho provides online business software covering areas such as customer management, email, accounting, help desks, projects, recruitment and digital signatures. You can subscribe to individual products rather than adopting every Zoho service at once.

Some of the better-known options include:

  • Zoho CRM for managing leads and customer relationships
  • Zoho Books for invoicing and accounting
  • Zoho Mail for business email
  • Zoho Desk for customer support
  • Zoho Projects for project and task management
  • Zoho Inventory for orders and stock
  • Zoho Sign for electronic signatures
  • Zoho Meeting for online meetings and webinars

In practice, many small businesses start with one immediate need, such as email, invoicing or lead tracking. They may only consider another app after the first one fits their daily workflow. You do not need to decide on a large software setup before creating an account.

Who May Find Zoho Useful?

Zoho may suit:

  • A Singapore sole proprietor setting up business email or invoicing
  • A small team that wants a shared system for leads and customer follow-ups
  • A growing company trying to organise support requests or projects
  • A business that prefers to add software one function at a time
  • An existing company replacing spreadsheets and separate manual processes

A practical advantage is the choice between individual applications. A business can test the product related to its current problem without committing to a broad suite immediately.

My view is that the referral credit is most useful when you already intend to test a paid Zoho app. It can reduce the initial cost, but it should not be the main reason for choosing the software.

Understanding Zoho Wallet Credits

Zoho Wallet credits are account credits used within Zoho. They are not a bank balance, cashback payment or transferable cash reward.

For the referred customer, Zoho describes the $100 benefit as Wallet credits to help start their Zoho journey. How the credits can be applied may depend on the credit type, product, invoice and Zoho’s current rules. Review the credit entry in your Zoho account and the Zoho Wallet terms before relying on it for a purchase.

Frequently Asked Questions

Must I subscribe immediately?

No. Zoho allows up to 90 days from the first link click for the new customer to sign up. It separately requires a first purchase within 90 days after registration for the sale to qualify for the referrer’s reward. You should still evaluate the product before paying.

Which Zoho app should I choose?

Start with the problem you need to solve. For example, consider Zoho Mail for business email, Zoho Books for accounting, Zoho CRM for sales follow-ups or Zoho Desk for customer support. Check each product’s current plan details before subscribing.

My Experience Using Zoho Books

I use the Professional plan of Zoho Books. The mobile app is useful when I am away from the office and need to check something or upload a receipt.

I also use the Auto-Scan add-on. It provides an email address to which I can forward bills and receipts. The documents are then uploaded to Zoho Books, and its AI helps read some of the fields when I create the corresponding entry. This saves me from manually uploading each document, although I still check the extracted details before saving the entry.
