Yindii is a food-rescue app that helps reduce food waste by connecting users with discounted surplus food from local stores, bakeries, and restaurants. Available in Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand and South Korea, Yindii offers “surprise food bags” containing unsold yet fresh, quality items at 50–80% off their usual prices.
These bags may include pastries, salads, and groceries from well-known brands such as Délifrance, Duke Bakery, Edith Patisserie, PAUL Bakery, SaladStop! and Supergreen among others.
From an environmental perspective, each rescued order is estimated to prevent approximately 2.5 kg of CO₂ emissions. As of October 2024, Yindii reports having rescued over 240,000 meals, contributing to more than 600,000 kg of CO₂ emissions avoided.
To use the app effectively, browse nearby participating merchants, select available “surprise bags”, and collect them during the designated time slot. Given the discount structure, it can be a cost-effective way to reduce food waste while enjoying quality food.

Taking Délifrance Causeway Point as an example, a “Bakery Surprise Basket” was priced at $10 (approximately 50% discount) in October 2024.
Customers could receive a box of 4–5 assorted pastries, such as feuilletés, croissants, apple or kaya turnovers, and similar items.

Add stores to your favourites list
Yindii is growing in popularity, and popular merchants may sell out quickly. Add your preferred stores to your ‘Favourites’ list to receive notifications when new items become available.
Cancellation policy
You may cancel your reservation free of charge up to 2 hours before the collection time. After this window, cancellations are not allowed.
If you do not collect your order within the stated time, it will be marked as completed and will not be eligible for a refund.
Dietary restrictions and allergy considerations
Yindii offers “surprise” food boxes, so contents are typically not disclosed in advance.
If you have dietary restrictions (e.g. no beef, no pork, vegetarian, halal) or food allergies (e.g. nuts, dairy, shellfish), you may leave a note for the merchant at checkout.
Where necessary, it is advisable to confirm with the staff upon collection. Personally, if my order includes items I do not consume, I share them with neighbours.
