Personal Experience

Signing up issues? Bad review score of 1.8 on Google Play

When I checked out the app on Google Play store, it was very badly rated at 1.8/5.0. Many users commented that they had problems with receiving the OTP.

I suspect they might have been expecting the OTP in their SMS instead of email, or the OTP email landed into their email junk/spam folder.

Fortunately, I did not meet with such issues. Here is exactly what I did:

  1. Download the CoffeeBean SG Rewards mobile app
  2. In the sign-up screen, I entered my personal details like name, email, mobile number, birthday etc…
  3. There was a button for OTP beside the email field. I clicked on it.
  • An OTP arrived in my email. I was using a hotmail.com address. If you do not receive it, do check your ‘junk/spam’ folder
  1. I unchecked the option to receive marketing material via SMS.

Expiry of Bean Points?

I signed up on 9 January 2023, and the 150 Bean Points I was credited with will expire on 31 March 2024.
